Christine Hunsaker – Owner
Christine has worked in the funeral, cemetery and cremation business for over 25 years. She is proud to use her experience and expertise to help families plan and experience memorable and respectful memorial services for their loved ones.
Brett Newbern – VP, Finance
Brett is a finance professional with over 16 years of experience in both finance and accounting for public and private institutions. Over the years, he has gained extensive experience with consolidation, forecasting and planning, financial reporting and other analysis projects. He is an integral part of the leadership team at Southern Cremations.
Robert J. Hunsaker – Executive Vice President
Robert has been involved in the funeral industry his entire life, as his father was a funeral director and they were living in a funeral home when he was born. From an early age, he has worked for a memorial park and a group of funeral homes. He finds great satisfaction in helping families during a very difficult time of their lives and enjoys establishing relationships with all those he is honored to serve.
Denise Joyce – VP, Technology
Denise is passionate about implementing technology that supports and promotes excellent customer service. With over 16 years of experience building and deploying proprietary customer service software, Denise is excited to bring her experience to a company that is just as passionate about providing excellent and compassionate customer service.
Debra G. Hunsaker – Marketing Director
Debbie has a Bachelor of Arts in Communications/Public Relations from Weber State University and has over 18 years of experience in sales, public relations, marketing and journalism. She’s been a public relations director, managing editor and lead reporter for a community newspaper, and client relations/business development manager for a marketing company. Debbie and her husband Robert are originally from Utah and have three children. Her hobbies include spending time with her family, reading, boating, fishing, and volunteering in her community.
Jennifer Jarvis – General Manager
Jennifer has been in the funeral industry for over 30 years and holds a dual license for Indiana and Georgia. She is a native of Indiana and a graduate of Vincennes University. Since joining the team at Southern Cremations and Funerals, she has implemented many organizational tools that have set up a smoother process for our families. When it comes to the families we serve, she is a strong advocate and comfort to them through each step of the process.
Joseph (Joey) Eads, Facilities Maintenance Supervisor
Joey has 23 years of construction experience, 15 of which were gained when he ran his own remodeling business. He specializes in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, roofing, drywall and painting. He enjoys working with his hands and takes great pride in his work and the happiness it brings to other people. Joey has an 8-year-old daughter with which he spends all his free time. He also has a brother and two sisters.
Christina Nethery – Accounting Manager
Naomi Fann – Funeral Director
A native of Louisiana, Naomi has been a resident of Georgia for over 10 years. She is a graduate of the Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service in Houston, TX, and is a licensed funeral director and embalmer in the State of Georgia and Louisiana. Naomi has a fondness and passion for funeral service and the families that she serves. She is a certified crematory operator. Her teammates describe her as caring, funny, hardworking, and a true friend. In her spare time, Naomi likes to spend time outdoors. She enjoys antique cars and quality time with friends.
Nick Ergle – Funeral Director
Jordan Scott – Apprentice Funeral Director
Jordan Scott attended Gupton-Jones College, where he earned an Associate’s degree in Funeral Service. Although he graduated in 2012, he’s been involved in the cemetery profession for the majority of his life. More than anything, Jordan loves that his role at Southern Cremations and Funerals at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park allows him to help others in a time of need and be a part of their healing process. Outside of work, Jordan loves playing basketball and spending time with his dogs, Tyson and Laila.
Troy Hall – Assistant
Troy Hall joined the staff of Southern Cremations and Funerals in the early February of 2016. He was born and raised in Paulding County, and graduated from Paulding County High School in 2000. Troy was called to preach the summer of that same year. He went on to college and received a degree in computers. Troy also attended Bible College for 2 years at Atlanta Bible College and Georgia Baptist Seminary. He has been a licensed minister for around 15 years and loves ministering to people in any way the Lord presents the opportunity. Troy is married to Yolanda Hall and has a beautiful 6-year-old daughter. In Troy’s words, “I have experienced a lot in my life physically and mentally, which has helped me to help others in life. I have had 6 major heart surgeries including a heart transplant so life is very precious to me, so I try to live every day as my last. All these trials in my life have made me who I am and gave me a great compassion.”
Leonel Villanueva – Funeral Assistant
Leonel is a native of Venezuela. He moved to the United States in 1997 and has been in the funeral industry for 7 years. Leonel is one of the first people that our families get to see, and enjoys being the comfort as he helps the families to prepare for the next steps. Leonel’s professionalism and character show strongly in his everyday work ethic and compassion for the families he serves.
Donna Allen – Preplanning Specialist
A Native of Massachusetts, Donna has over 17 years’ experience in the cemetery and funeral profession. Besides being a certified cemeterian, she is a licensed Life Insurance agent in Georgia. When not working, Donna enjoys spending time traveling and visiting her son and daughter-in-law in Nashville, TN.
Angela Reed – Office Administrator
Angela Reed is a native of Bloomington, Illinois. She joined the Cheatham Hill Memorial Park team in 2016. She enjoys working here at Cheatham Hill and the diversity that her job brings into her life. She has been a great addition to the company and helps wherever she can. Her kindness can be seen in interactions with families as well as heard when answering the phones.
When Angela is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and children. They enjoy football season and their family nights together.
Nate White – Cemetery Supervisor
Nate White is an integral member of the team at Southern Cremations and Funerals at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park. He has been in the cemetery profession since 2011, and loves that his role at our Cheatham Hill Memorial Park allows him to work outside. When Nate is not at the park, you can find Nate reading, watching movies, bike riding, and playing with his dogs.
